We continue to study the Ukrainian game development market and present the first analytics on product companies operating in our country. This report is based on the total number of specialists in these companies, the platforms they operate on, and the games they produce. It includes specialists located in Ukraine, as well as those who have relocated abroad but continue to pay taxes in Ukraine.
Note: The analytics include both purely Ukrainian companies and international companies with offices in Ukraine that pay taxes here. The publication serves as a reference and helps assess how the Ukrainian game development market is evolving.
The analysis includes companies that develop their own products: mobile and web games, AA and AAA projects, social casinos (games where real money cannot be played or won). Gambling companies were excluded. Additionally, we did not include companies with fewer than 25 employees.

Insights from the Analysis:
Domination of Mobile Platforms: The most dominant platform among Ukrainian game development companies is mobile, with 20 companies developing games for this platform. PC games are produced by 13 companies, while Xbox and PlayStation follow closely. Notably, VG Entertainment is the only company focused solely on PC games.
Regional Presence: Kyiv leads with 18 companies operating from the capital, followed by Lviv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro. Interestingly, Kramatorsk, despite being a frontline city, also hosts game development activities.
Technological Focus: Some companies show a high concentration of technical specialists. For instance, Hologryph has 96% of its workforce in technical roles, followed by Ubisoft and Frogwares with 94%. On the other hand, UGI STUDIO has the lowest technical specialist ratio at 30%.
Impact of War: Despite the ongoing war, over 78% of the companies continued to release games. Only one company has completely halted its operations since the full-scale invasion began.
Most Recognizable Games and Franchises:
Below is a list of the ten largest companies by employee count and their most well-known games or franchises. Note that for some companies, not all products were considered, such as the most recent four games listed on Playtika's website.
Notable Game Releases During the War: Many companies have managed to continue developing and releasing games during the war. For example, Ubisoft and Plarium have maintained their operations, while Frag Lab significantly reduced its workforce and technical staff percentage over the past six months.
